  • Works or not? (#40158)

Another shot from diwali but not from the same day. Brought my tripod along to get a longer exposure on the firework shots. Not sure if it works or is necessary as the strong wind drags the trails sideways. I’m actually taking firework photos tomorrow – a nice coincidence considering this is from 3 years…

Swimming to the rhythm of Led Zeppelin… Edit of this photo is up on youtube (shutterpresser)

  • One Tree Hill.

Taken from a car, on the way to the beach. Silhouettes usually look better in black and white. White space on the left is because of a tree in the foreground.

  • Wait for Fossils.

Back to my DIY tilt shift 50mm. Artsy shots are made very easy.

  • Tap.

Just something strange and eerie for the morning. Used the 100mm macro here, it gives such a smooth picture, almost like film.

  • Sunset Tutorial.

Original, unaltered photo. Given a “sunset” look by warming the temperature in Lightroom. Given a “sunset” look by tinting the shadows pink in colour correction in Lightroom.

This pretty much sums up this year’s butterfly abundance, though this could also be a wasp nesting.

  • Diwali. (#40136)

Apparently the biggest Diwali festival in Europe is in Leicester. There were 100s of people some of whom managed to stay completely still throughout the 20 second exposure! P.S.: Celebrating 2000 hits recorded yesterday since the start of this blog in february. Almost 500 hits this month alone!

  • Day 7: Sap.

What you see at the right bottom of the berry is not rain or dew. That’s solidified sap. I remember I used to eat cherry sap off the trees as a child… I wasn’t the most normal of children.

  • Day 6: Depleted.

I took the photo because even though the flower was non-existent, it had this grace about it, the petals still being in the viscinity of the stem.
