Break almost over.

The Bristol Gull.
I’ve not been to many places in England but nowhere have I seen gulls as big as in Bristol. Servo Focus basically takes bird pictures for you.

Court Edge.
Trespassed VERY SLIGHTLY (500m) into the deer area. Focusing 1/4 of the way into the scene with the 100mm lens gives a large amount of DOF but also keeps enough of the frame in focus.

Cataract.
The washed out and colour-cast edges are done by wrapping a clear sandwich bag with a hole in the middle, around the lens which I coloured with a blue highlighter on the left and a red one on the right. The hole lets the cat’s head/eye stay sharp and in focus while the surroundings look…

Day 2: Phaenicia sericata
Fancy latin name for a common green bottle fly. Pro-tip for handheld insect photos: Use manual focus and spam the shutter button. Even if there’s no wind, breathing will put the focus off so with 20-40 shots you should have at least one in focus.

What a Difference a Lens Makes.
Shot with my speedy Tamron 70-300mm. The AF speed is comparable to Canon L lenses. Combined with Servo focus and a bit of luck, makes shots like these take a single try.
