Macro Week #7 – Day 1: Bournemouth.
I remember lying across pebbles, stretched out, people walking past and giving strange looks but what’s a shot without getting out of your comfort zone? The sea made some nice bokeh, as did wet pebbles though they also made the shot very uncomfortable to take. Probably my favourite from the Bournemouth trip anyway.

What a Difference a Lens Makes.
Shot with my speedy Tamron 70-300mm. The AF speed is comparable to Canon L lenses. Combined with Servo focus and a bit of luck, makes shots like these take a single try.

Can’t think of a title that wouldn’t ruin the picture. Even these words are distracting.

One Tree Hill.
Taken from a car, on the way to the beach. Silhouettes usually look better in black and white. White space on the left is because of a tree in the foreground.

Tap.
Just something strange and eerie for the morning. Used the 100mm macro here, it gives such a smooth picture, almost like film.

Sunset Tutorial.
Original, unaltered photo. Given a “sunset” look by warming the temperature in Lightroom. Given a “sunset” look by tinting the shadows pink in colour correction in Lightroom.

Butterflies And Lack Thereof.
This pretty much sums up this year’s butterfly abundance, though this could also be a wasp nesting.

Diwali. (#40136)
Apparently the biggest Diwali festival in Europe is in Leicester. There were 100s of people some of whom managed to stay completely still throughout the 20 second exposure! P.S.: Celebrating 2000 hits recorded yesterday since the start of this blog in february. Almost 500 hits this month alone!
