Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Sample 2
Again the depth of field at the minimum focusing distance really lets you isolate a subject and forget about the background.

Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Sample 1
The ability to focus that little bit closer gives a very unique depth of field to close subjects.

Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Test
Slightly more distortion than on the Canon 50mm but the picture quality is virtually the same. Not much loss in detail on the edges and a general pleasant look.

Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Overview
This is my manual alternative to the Canon 50mm F1.8. I use this for filming since manual lenses have much smoother focusing rings which make my job easier when pulling focus. Glass 08. Helios 85-210mm F3.8 | Overview
This is possibly my favourite among all my manual lenses. It has many limitations, like the 1.5m minimum focusing distance at anything but 210mm but the macro ability is quite hand. Unfortunately these lenses are very easy to break because of how front-heavy they are – my 2nd one of these is now out of…
