GLASS – 10. HOLGA 60MM F8.0 | TEST.
As you can see, the image from the lens is in quite a strange aperture. The lens is pretty much an elaborate and neater pin-hole lens, with no glass elements other than a plastic one which is just decoration I think. The lens has a large central opening and 8 small holes around the outside,…

GLASS – 10. HOLGA 60MM F8.0 | OVERVIEW.
This is a fun little lens. Not one I would use very often but It captures interesting pinhole-like photos which are meant to reflect the style of old holga lenses. It’s very compact and will fit in any pocket. It’s also mostly plastic meaning it weighs less than a spare battery, meaning I usually bring…

Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Sample 2
Again the depth of field at the minimum focusing distance really lets you isolate a subject and forget about the background.

Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Sample 1
The ability to focus that little bit closer gives a very unique depth of field to close subjects.

Glass – 09. Pentacon 50mm F1.8 | Test
Slightly more distortion than on the Canon 50mm but the picture quality is virtually the same. Not much loss in detail on the edges and a general pleasant look.

The other advantage is the slightly closer focusing distance which I again prefer when taking macro photos, though I wouldn’t ordinarily use this lens…

Glass 08. Helios 85-210mm F3.8 | Sample 2
Surprisingly this macro photo is taken at 210mm at 1.5m distance as my macro switch was broken when I bought the 1st of these lenses.

Glass 08. Helios 85-210mm F3.8 | Sample 1
I’m not sure how but photos from the lens come out very matted and almost polarised. The sheen off the building in the background is attractive here but would look much less so from any of my other lenses.
