This is my manual alternative to the Canon 50mm F1.8. I use this for filming since manual lenses have much smoother focusing rings which make my job easier when pulling focus.

The other advantage is the slightly closer focusing distance which I again prefer when taking macro photos, though I wouldn’t ordinarily use this lens for those anyway.
